Changing My Personality

Is this going to be a Journal type of Blog post? I don’t know.

But what I know is I figured out what I want. Not just the material things like a Mercedes-Benz CLS 63s AMG in white with Beige leather and grey accents.

I talk about my personality traits. I’ve binge-watched the TV show Suits on Amazon Prime. All 9 Seasons within a few days… yeah, no judgment around here, thank youuu.

What personality traits am I focusing on?

Of all these different characters, Harvey Spector was my idol, more or less. His personality is very womanizing and straightforward, and he has a sense of simplicity that deflects drama. In addition, he has a strong opinion which I personally really like to have.

Now, I relate a lot to Mike Ross, the fraud in this series. However, I want to focus on the goodwill he cares so much for those who are powerless and don’t have the resources to get the help they need. Unfortunately, this usually ends in big trouble for Mike. This is where I find myself.

I try to help others rather than fix my own problems.

Now, What I want from Mike is the boldness of his actions. He makes it happen and goes with the flow.

What I like to have from the entire team of the characters is. “Our family matters most, and we protect it — no matter what. We do WHATEVER it TAKES.”

So, here is a short list I printed out for myself to read daily to focus on those traits. Because I believe that it will give me the peace I crave for.

  • be loyal to your decision
  • fight for your team
  • stand for your opinion
  • don’t promise… if you do hold your promise
  • form your opinion based on facts on stand by it
  • be confident and be dominant in the decision-making process
  • be 10 min earlier
  • walk the walk… forget the talk

This is not really a list for everyone to follow. But I wanted to write this down because it has value to me. First, it gave me the clarity to focus on who I want to be without thinking about who will like me because of those characteristics.

My recommendation for you

If someone is asking me for advice. I’d like to take a step back and disclose that I don’t see myself as someone qualified to give such advice. However, if I could provide you with something, then it’s that.

If you want to change who you are because YOU WANT to. Then find personality traits you admire. That can be a co-worker, a family member, or a character in a TV show. Or a public figure.

You must see the downside of those personality traits. Simply because if you want to change, you need to be aware that you will lose people who used to like the one quality you want to replace.

Thanks for reading through and I will see you next time.
